Don't freak out! It won't really be twenty questions, but I am gonna ask a few things pertaining to my blog which may or may not be important, depending on someone's POV.
(There is going to be A LONG wall of text, so if you don't like that, turn around and run!)
First and foremost, I'd like to give a big thank you for everyone who has been following and reading this challenge, and just wanna say that you guys really gave me hope to get to the halfway mark.
Speech aside, lets get on to the questions.
Do you like the way the blog looks, the exterior, banner, etc?
Image isn't always a important thing, but with this blog, it is!
I feel as if I'm going through a identity crisis every post. In some posts I LOVE my drama, but then I feel my sense of humor trying to add something and I screw up. I read a lot of humoristic blogs, usually legacies of Sims, and I feel "I want that in my blog!", but in the end I can't really adapt to it without changing my style.
So what is the best? More drama, humor, or is a detailed post probably just okay?
And how would readers out there feel if I switched from first person writing style to third person? Do you guys feel irritated that I sometimes focus way to much on Destiny? I try to remedy that, but I feel restricted, and that's why I feel I may need to switch.

Does Destiny look okay? I know I sometimes dress her... Okay, I don't know how to word it exactly. 'Not as motherly' as she's supposed to be, maybe? But I hate it when you have to dress someone up in old looking clothes when they self aren't old.
If you could please answer this by posting comments, it would be appreciated!
And now to the most important question of all, so read carefully!
A long, LONG time ago, back in March to be exact, my game fussed up with my baby challenge save, and I would hover over the house and the game would then crash.
Believing that this was caused by the grim reaper twins, I had to "kill them off" in my story.
So, this month I came across something that shocked me worse than cold water; I had a CC hair in my game that had been converted from adult to child, and that causes your game to crash. At the time there had been another girl in the house, Caitlyn who would have been baby #12 (not featured in blog as it wouldn't have been worth it), who I had just given a makeover and gave her that hair. I hadn't known it had been THAT, and I feel pretty bad that Keira and Liana couldn't be featured properly.
If you read this post, you can see what I had to make up.
Now that I know the problem, I also found out that I saved Keira and Liana as teens, and that I could just change them to adults and bring them back, but I'd have to invent one hell of a cover story.
So, what's the best thing to do?

ReplyDeleteOk...I think your blog design looks awesome...I really like the background and banner art you've got going on...
ReplyDeleteAs far as your writing style, I can completely relate...I feel like I started out with Hadley being super funny, but now I feel like I can't quite live up to that...but I think you should definitely let your sense of humor shine through...sometimes the things our Sims do are hilarious and they need to be made fun of. Other times, you can be poignant, or dramatic, whatever the situation calls for.
As far as switching from first to third person, it might be confusing...but if you can figure out a way to do it in mostly third person, then maybe have Destiny do a diary or something? IDK...just an idea...to allow you to continue to write in first person, but at the same time allow the focus to go on some of the other characters.
(OK...I deleted my last comment because I had more to say...ahhh!)
About Destiny's wardrobe, I think it looks good! A lot of challenge mothers dress "young." I tend to go back and forth...sometimes I dress Hadley in something more conservative, sometimes I dress her in something trendy, sometimes sexy. It all depends on the situation...but I've also ran into the problem.
Oh, BTW, I voted that you should bring the twins back, mostly because I want to hear what kind of back story you can come up with! I know it will rock!
Ok...so I hope all this helps!
Well, let's see here:
ReplyDelete1) yes, i luv the blog/design
2) I like how you write now, drama, with humor, great mix!
3) Destiny looks ok, but since you had the birthday post, I thought that she might look older...maybe no skinny jeans? I luv her shirts tho
4) I voted yes
@Cassie: My sims are way to crazy in my game, I wish I could include all of it in my blog, but it wouldn't go with the posts' theme, or it would make them too long. But your right, they are hilarious!
ReplyDeleteThe reason I brought the proposition of going from first person to third is because I have more experience with third person writing, as I've spent months on RPG's long ago. So it always feels weird writing in first person.
I practically dress Destiny with what's available in the game, which is mostly maternity wear and some other...uhm, revealing things my sister installed. Sometimes I feels it too young for a mother, sometimes I think it looks like crap.
Your definitely right about it, about it depending on the situation.
And thanks for voting! I've been throwing ideas around in my head, lying on my bed, staring at the ceiling, thinking of something AMAZING for their return. It's yet to come! :(
Thank you for all your feedback. :D
@trufflelegacy:
ReplyDelete1) Thanks!
2) Again, thanks for the compliment. Things like that makes me feel better. :)
3) Oh dear god, what would we be without skinny jeans!? I probably own more than five in RL. I hardly noticed I was dressing her differently, even tho the more motherly look is what I seek at times.
I think it may be because that top and pants from the last posts was maternity wear and that's why I changed that.
4) Yippee! Looks like the twins may be making a return with things going on the way it is now.
All I know is that, if I have to bring the girls back, it's gonna take A LOT of work, and some special effects from the game.. I wonder if I'll be able to remake a fire?
;)
~♥~
First of all, I love the blog look and design. The flowers match the banner really well, esp. with that pink!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cassie on the 1st/3rd person idea. I like how you write now and I wouldn't mind if you switched to third person. If you feel that 1st person can get a little boring it might make it more fun for you if you switched to a different sims' viewpoint such as her children.
I hope this doesn't sound mean because I don't mean it to be, but I don't usually pay attention to how the sims dress (You might be able to tell in my blog) so however you dress Destiny is fine with me! Badly dressed sims don't usually bother me unless it's outrageously over the top, which Destiny is not!
I voted for yes for the same reason as Cassie. I really want to see what kind of story you come up with.
Whatever it is, I know it'll be awesome!
@Cat: I was thinking of changing the banner as I'm not such a big fan of pink, but it seems I'll be keeping it for a while because of the positive feedback. :)
ReplyDeleteWith my writing style, I have a awful tendency to keep writing first person but in the past tense, and sometimes I write about stuff Destiny shouldn't know (cuz she isn't in the same room).
I'm thinking of keeping it first person, and just making it present tense. Try and get rid of the bad habit!
Don't worry, I don't find what you wrote mean at all! It reminds me of how I acted younger, but anyways, it means I can keep dressing Destiny almost anyway I want.
You guys are gonna make me have a lot of work! I have the concept done in my head, but now to make it work is another story.
