Bubblegum and Strawberries: Babies 68 & 69

When you keep having triplets, sometime or another, reality will hit you in the face. And the reality today is, triplets make me CRAZY. No matter what room you go in to, you hear them, or no matter what I do, the girls just won't stop crying. I'm sooo close to ripping my hair out of my head. After more than 60 kids, my patience is almost done.
Samuel is a easy toddler to please; give him a doll and he's putty in your hands! But even he can still give you some gray hairs.
My tradition for every evening has changed; first, take care of kids and have some fun. Second, pray for strength!
It's such a sunny day outside (as if it never is, hah), we all go outside for some relaxation. My idea of chilling seems to be teaching Sam to walk.
The boys' hideout is called The Keep Out Zone, implying that NO ONE is allowed to go up there, other than them and their blood brothers. There's no point in trying to call them down from there, because you'd probably get soaked...

"I can see our house from here!" Colin calls from above.
"Our house is right there, doofus," Rory points out.
Only recently did I start my ascent to fame (3 star celeb, woop woop), by accident really. Paparazzi people almost never leave our property. Parker even thinks their family because of their habit to come into our house. It became so bad I called the police, who removed miss Bessie Clavell. As she climbed into the police cruiser, she had a determined face, and it wasn't hard to guess what she's thinking. "Someday, Rose, I'll get a shot of you." Who knew old ladies could also be stalkers.

After that's finally out of the way, the boys look at me with stern expressions.
"Why do you wanna age up now? I like you as kids!" I try to joke, but it's turns out pretty lame, and I allow them to get the cakes.
It came as a big surprise to me when Parker and Colin asked if they could join me in the hot tub. You know, as boys don't like spending time with ol' mommy! Rory also decides to join, and we all relax while the bubbles pop at our feet.

"If this is the life of a celebrity, hell, I think I'm gonna become one!" Rory laughed.
I smile. "It's a lot harder than you think. Think of paparazzi following your every move. Make one mistake, and you'll suffer the consequences forever."

Parker and Colin both grimace at me. Apparently I took the fun out of being a celeb and riding in a limousine.
While in a zombie-sort-of-trance, I re-docorate the girls' room that evening. I worry a little that I might have gone overboard with purple, but being so tired, it doesn't entirely reach my brain.

~*NEW Girls Room*~
Next in line to age up is Samuel. I almost tear up, seeing my cute purple haired toddler aging into a child. I randomly think he'd fit in quite nicely into the girls' room with his colorful looks.
The rest of the night passes in a daze. All I know when I get up the next morning, is that I had a long shower... And that's where it stops.
Colin and Parker, and probably even Rory and Samuel, were up early, as it's Saturday morning. I walk in as they both just finish their breakfast. Colin looks up and smirks in my direction.

"Nice new look," he comments.
"What'ya mean?" I scratch my head, confused. My hair feels different, but it may just be an aftermath of the shampoo.
"Have you looked in a mirror yet, mom.. I think you should," Parker adds for clarification.
Rushing up stairs and almost crashing into the mirror, I notice what Colin referred to; my hair, for one, is short. But the other thing is that it's a different color. On further inspection in the bathroom, I conclude that I mixed up the shampoo and some of Shaniah's old hair dye. Thank goodness it isn't permanent! But I am mad at myself for cutting my hair while I was tired. Must have been fed up with dealing with long hair.

After coming to terms with this "small change", I gather the babies to age them up.
Emily is a pale little girl with soft brown hair, and deep blue eyes. She's rather on the quirky side, loving to explore new things - by new things I mean toys - and being outside in the sun completes her day!
Mira is the opposite of Emily, always quiet, but there's always a frown on her face. Rory guessed she must be 'contemplating what she is' and 'wondering why things are the way they are'. Geniuses, that's the trait almost everyone ends up with. Her features are random, as she has black hair and a rather "different" eye color.
Rachel is the only one fortunate enough to end up with her daddy's pink curls, which rather clash with the blue eyes. She demonstrates carnivore tendencies, i.e. she LOVES chewing her hand, or sucking her thumb. This pink bundle of joy is the one that makes the most noise.
I had hoped that when the babies became toddlers, that there would be less crying seeing as they had the opportunity to explore their environment now. Dead wrong. Rachel thought being out of the crib is awful, and that she'd rather be back in her safe, cushioned spot.
Everyone has a point in their lives where they just snap, and lose it. They could hurt people around them, or hurt the ones they love. I feel as if I'm right there on the verge of losing it, so leaving the house in the very capable hands of the boys, I quickly get out of the house to go for a walk.
The town is now full of my footsteps, because I literally almost walked everywhere, before ending up in a small, quiet park. It's here where I take a couple of deep breaths and try to calm myself.
"Came here to unload too?" a male voice asks behind me. "Sorry if I scared ya.. You just look pretty strained."

"Oh yes, it's been a hell of a ride and I couldn't think of not having my life crazy," I answer with a lot of sarcasm. But this mystery man only made a polite suggestion, so I try to save the situation.

"Sorry... You guessed right. I've almost gone crazy with how...crazy things have been."
"I know the feeling," he comes and stands next to me. "I have an ex-girlfriend that can't stop stalking me. And SHE'S the one that broke off our relationship. So I ran away from her phone calls and her unexpected-yet-expected visits to my pad."

"Wowza. I broke it off with my boyfriend quite awhile ago, and so far I've wanted nothing to do with him.. 'Course, he did lie to me about his everyday life, but still."
He laughs, and the sound just makes me smile. "Man, if only.. Be my ex-girlfriend? It'd make my life perfect!"
We burst out in fits of laughter before he solemnly hangs his head low.
"Haven't laughed in for a long time. It feels nice. By the way.. My name's Dwayne. Or if you prefer to be formal... Dwayne Greene Lewis is the name!"

"Dwayne Greene Lewis? Quite a mouthful. I'm Destiny, Destiny Rose, pleased to not be strangers anymore!"
"Man, that's just a mouthful as my name.. Well, I'm from Bridgeport, only recently moved here to get away from the girlfriend yet she still follows me. And you?"

Absently, I thank the stars. If he's from Bridgeport, he doesn't know the celebs around here yet, nor will he know about my 100 baby challenge. For once I'd like to get to know someone outside of it. Before I can answer, I notice someone I haven't seen for a long time.

"Don't look now, but my ex-boyfriend is sitting there... Crap! He just has to make my day worse."
And sure as hell, he waves in our direction.

"Hello there! Nice to see a happy young couple as you here!"

Happy couple? It's only then I realize he doesn't recognize me in my new look.. and worst of all, he thinks me and Dwayne are dating.
"What does he mean?" Dwayne frowns.
"I recently had an accident where my hair got shorter and dyed.. I don't think he knows it's me!"
Dwayne and I, even still being strangers to each other, concoct an interesting plan. As Chad thinks we're together, we can continue this ruse, and so we also get to know each other better. Like a happy couple, we lounged under the shadow of a tree.

"So you have a career in sports... Now I understand the clothing.. And the sweaty smell."

"And what do you do? An artist?" he winks.
"Close.. Okay, yes. I'm a self-employed sculptor, but I'm thinking of quitting that."
Chad got a little over-emotional while watching us. He bursts out in tears, and the last I saw of him was his figure running to his car, speeding away.
Dwayne is a really nice guy, actually offering to take me to lunch. We stop at a nice new cafè in town, and chat up a storm.

"How's your Fruit Parfait? Just as sweet as you?"
"Oh my gosh, what kind of pick-up line is that!" I laugh, and almost choke on the dessert.
"Not a pick-up line. Just a friendly question."
It's after four in the afternoon when I get back home, having speed walked all the way. Colin is still in his pyjamas, yet that's gonna stop him from giving me the grilling...

"MOM! Where on Earth were you? Rachel has been crying every few minutes, and we don't know what to do anymore. Parker is up there keeping her busy with books, because that's all we can do."

"She's probably teething..." It's a lame defense, I know. Anyone could do better. I sigh, and quickly apologize. "I'll go up there to check what's wrong.. Then we'll spend some time together, 'kay?"
Colin gives me the cold shoulder for a while, until I invite him outside to help me in the garden. He loves the little plants more than his own family, I swear, but it gives us the time for some mother-son bonding.
Rory and Parker are the jocks, always together, and always playing football. It's hard to get them inside for five minutes to eat dinner, because the entire time their thinking one thing: football.
There's a reason Samuel almost never spends time with us. When it's bathtime, it would be silly to hope that he'll be out in ten minutes. No, when you leave Sam in the bath, he'll go on one of those submarine adventures, and you can probably get the bathroom a half hour later, but the entire place would be full of puddles of water.
Sam: I see you, mom.

Paparazzi people came back again, showing me that I really should get a fence around the house. Luckily Colin stood up to the woman before I could, and gave her quite a speech.

In other situations I would scold him talking down to people, but for once, I'm happy how he handled it. A firm voice is the only thing that could get them out of your house.
It's a habit now to light the fireplace, as it's gotten a lot colder, the wind even more ferocious. Seems there had been a down side to living near the beach.
After being thoroughly spooked by the prank Parker had planted on the computer (seriously, I'm gonna have nightmares about it), I read some books to the girls. Rachel displays some curiosity, but quickly scurries away when she finds listening to my voice boring.

The girls finally fall asleep, and I sneak out of the nursery turning the light off as I go. Of course, Rory and Colin stand in front of me, arms crossed, and a stern expression on their face.

"When can we age up? I have the perfect career in mind and there's only a few spots left...," Rory asks me.

I sigh. "Tomorrow morning, first thing, okay?"
The Boys

Rory tells me his career lies in Sports (no surprise there), and that he can now secure that last open spot, maybe earn a few fast promotions, and play in the town's football team.
Parker has sent an application to the newspaper to become a journalist, albeit one that reports about sports and such.
Colin is the brother that will save lives, as his choice of career is to be a fireman.
I strike up a conversation with someone at the beach the next day, while on a family outing. His colorful hair and blue skin make a beautiful combo.

"I'm Azure Melon, berry sim extraordinaire. You must be the Destiny Rose girl I've seen a couple of times around town. Funny, I've seen your purple convertible driving around a couple of times."
"Hah, yeah, I gave it to some of my kids. Good to know it's been put to use."
There's a eat-a-thon competition going on, and I'm appointed the chef for the day, having to make some cheesesteaks for people to eat.

"Mom," Samuel looks at me, "Your not gonna eat ALL of that, are you?"
"No no no no! This is for the eating competition. There's no way I can stuff all of this down my throat. Too fatty."
Azure is a definite charmer, sweet words easily flowing from his mouth. I'm used to it by now, knowing that it's all really a lie. But it's hard not to fall for those bright green eyes.
The doctor would have prescribed some medicine for all the stress I deal with on a daily basis, had I not turned it down because the medication would have a bad effect on having babies. So, the only other option he could recommend is a few hours of peaceful meditation. Which is what I end up doing.
I recognize the figure that's past the beach, and I quickly call him over.

"Hey, Dwayne! Small world, isn't it?"
"Yeah, definitely... You live here? This is your beach house? I've been wanting the house the first moment I saw it.. It has a nice location." Dwayne scratches his chin, looking rather thoughtful. "Can I come in? I'd love to have a look at the  inside."
I start pouring us both a cup of coffee when Dwayne's cell phone begins to ring. "Sorry," he mutters and walks off to speak in private. But I can still hear him, and he sounds like a total different person that I've come to know.

"NO! For Pete's sake, if you don't stop calling me, I will call my lawyers and get that restraining order activated..."

He turns back to me, an apologetic look on his face. "Sorry, that was my ex..."
At this precise moment, Rachel decides she had enough of exploring the study room and creeps out towards the living room. Dwayne sees her and I can see the shock in his eyes.

"You never told me you were married...?"
"I'm not...," I shrug. Inside, I go crazy. There it is, the end of our starting friendship.
"Ohh... Ohhh!" Some kind of realization hits him, and I watch him scoop her up.
"Oh, of course, how stupid can I be. She looks nothing like you. Your just babysitting!" He tickles her tummy and she bursts out in giggles. I take a few seconds to calm my breathing. Thank goodness he thought of that excuse.
Dwayne goes home quite late, after 5 PM, having a party to go to with some guys. Finally I get the opportunity to give some food to the toddlers.
The sunset is as always, beautiful, so Sam and I sit on the swing outside, chatting about school and such, until he falls silent.

"Mom, I wonder about my dad sometimes... He's such a big name in the world, how can I ever live up to that? If people see me, they'll say that I look like him, and they'll follow me around too.."

"Samuel Rose, you are your own unique little person. You will never be like your father because he is a total ass and hardly has any manners. You are the opposite, and THAT's what people will love about you, whether your a celeb or not." I give him a pep talk, one that I actually mean with all my heart and all the certainty in the world.
Even though Sam didn't want to, he settles in to watch a episode of Vampire Diaries I had running on DVD.

"Mom, honestly, what is it about this show you like so much?" he quizzes.
"It rules, because.. It's better than Twilight all of your sisters mooned over. Vampires burn in the sunlight, thank God, werewolves change only when there's a full moon... The guys are hot.. The story line is better... Pretty much everything is great. No offense to your sisters though."
After that awkward time together in front of the TV, Sammie entertains the triplets by helping with the block building. I sit by the side and gaze at all my cute kids. Can it be that I already have 67 of them?
I try sculpting again, just for fun, but my stone sculpture collapsed... And reveals a color-changing stone.
Boredom has got to me. It's Monday morning, Samuel is at school and the toddlers are all asleep. I actually end up reading the newspaper and come across an advertisement of the magazine "Challenge Zone". Whad'dya know, the model for the month of August is Liana Masons!
Maybe it's not just boredom, but also the pregnancy hormones. I cackle out loud just by looking at the fish tank. But at least it brings on labor...
They're not exactly Berry Babies, but I love them!

~♥~

Alrighty, thanks for taking the time to read this. I would love it if you leave a comment with your thoughts on this post or the blog in general, or even have some name suggestions/father suggestions, OR, if your a good writer, leave a chunk of criticism. There's always room for improvement!

  2. Why is she lying to Dwayne if she knows how it feels? Even though she's not exactly lying to him, it's close enough.

Anywho, when I saw the toddler version of Emily, I was in love with her. OMG she is the cutest little toddler in the history of Sims games :) I love her hair *sigh*

Great update!! And Liana Mason (the other challenge mother) wants to have 150 babies?? wow...I thought 100 would be enough...

  3. @trufflelegacy: You see, Destiny wants someone she can be friends with (platonic of course) without the challenge mucking it up, because certain people would judge her then (and goodbye to the friendship). Keeping the truth from him is a mistake, yes, and this is the process where she can start forgiving Chad and...your kinda taking away my plot. O.o

Don't worry, she won't be lying/keeping the truth from the poor man much longer. Destiny is too honest to keep secrets for long.

Okay, I'm gonna be honest and say I've seen cuter toddlers (*coughcough*Shaniah*coughcough*), but everyone's opinion differs. But of course, Emily is cute. xD

Yeah, 150 is a crazy number. But some people enjoy the challenge so much that must extend the fun!

  4. @Illiana: Dwayne will be appearing again (like I said to truffle, she's gonna have to reveal the truth and hope for the best!), don't worry!

Destiny freaking out is based on ME freaking out... School, homework, project, Sims, this blog... It's all a bunch of craziness. :)

    Samuel = awesome. XD

Don't worry I will be returning the favour just got to figure out where we will meet in my game hehe xD!

Yeah exactly 100 may be enough but I wouldn't be ready to leave it at that so I went overboard and went for 150 call me crazy!!!

  7. Eeek! So late to comment (sorry...).

Anyway, I agree with the previous comments, Sam is the sweetest boy (although he's not a Berry Sim!) and I went "aww" when I saw toddler Emily for the first time. She is really cute esp. with that hair!

Speaking of hair, I like Destiny's new look!!

I kind of felt bad for Chad with the way he reacted after seeing Destiny and Dwayne in the park. But...

Dwayne should definitely appear in the next posts. He seems really nice but it's kind of annoying how Destiny hasn't told him about her challenge. Hopefully she does sometime soon if she wants to start a relationship with him.

The triplets boys were really cute as teens and YAs.

Hopefully the twins get their father's hair and eyes since neither of them got his purple skin tone.

    That's it for now!
